4/6/2022 Unleash the Fun with Sea-Doo Spark Trixx: A Playful and Powerful Personal WatercraftRead NowSea-Doo Spark TrixxLooking for a personal watercraft that's both affordable and fun to ride? Check out Sea-Doo's Spark, a budget-priced model that already has the playful feel and handling of old-school PWCs. But if you're looking to take your fun to the next level, consider the new-for- Spark Trixx. Designed with freestyle enthusiasts in mind, the Spark Trixx comes with a collection of add-ons that enhance the craft's maneuverability and performance. One of the key upgrades is a retooled version of Sea-Doo's electronic Variable Trim System (VTS). With increased upward and downward range, the Trixx can achieve angles as high as 17 degrees upward and negative-6 degrees downward, providing even more control and precision. The Trixx also features chocks at the rear of the footwells, angled at 60 degrees, which help you maintain control when the running angle gets vertical. And with a new handlebars column that includes an adjustable aluminum riser, you can raise the handlebars as much as 6 inches beyond the norm to give yourself additional leverage. If you're looking for a personal watercraft that's both affordable and fun to ride, the Sea-Doo Spark Trixx is definitely worth considering. With its freestyle-enhancing add-ons and improved handling, this PWC is sure to provide hours of entertainment on the water. And with its sleek design and durable construction, it's built to last for years to come. Sea Doo Spark TrixXSea-Doo’s Intelligent Brake and Reverse (iBR) uses a modified, electronically controlled reverse bucket to offer both braking power at speed and gearlike forward, neutral and reverse handling around the dock or ramp. Sea Doo Spark TrixxSea-Doo's press introduction of the craft proved that even relatively novice riders were able to perform basic wheelies with ease on the Spark Trixx. Meanwhile, more experienced PWC riders were able to take things up a notch, quickly turning the craft's bow-to-the-sky posture into impressive spinning tail stands or upward hops. While trimming the nozzle down below the norm was promised to make it easier to stab the bow into the water after a jump, or even submerge the nose, we found these maneuvers a little more challenging to execute. However, it's clear that the Trixx is built to send it skyward, but that doesn't mean the fun is limited to vertical tricks. In fact, we discovered that trimming the nozzle upward made the craft easier than ever to execute power slides and even 180-degree spins on the water's surface, providing a whole new level of excitement for riders. Sea-Doo Spark TrixxDon't be fooled by the Trixx's size and playful demeanor; this personal watercraft packs a punch. Built with a reinforced polypropylene hull and deck and powered by a 90 hp Rotax 900 HO ACE engine, the Trixx offers excellent power-to-weight ratio and can reach speeds of up to 48 mph with impressively zippy throttle response.
While 48 mph may not sound like much, it's important to keep in mind that the Trixx is designed for maximum fun and maneuverability, not just top speed. And with its combination of sturdy construction and powerful engine, this PWC is able to achieve impressive speeds while still maintaining its playful spirit. So whether you're looking to cruise along the water or perform daring tricks, the Trixx is more than up to the challenge. Sea-Doo has once again raised the bar in the personal watercraft industry with the introduction of the GTX Limited iS. Its unique independent suspension system separates the hull and passenger area into two separate components, allowing for a comfortable ride even through the choppiest waters. The seat, handlebars, and footwells move within the hull to absorb much of the shock. A center-mounted spring and shock absorber provide the cushion, while aluminum arms control the travel. With hydraulics that automatically adjust to load and water conditions, you can switch to manual and customize the level of cushioning for either a firmer or cushier ride.
The standout feature of the GTX Limited iS is its braking technology. By mating the reverse bucket to the craft's computer brain, Sea-Doo has enabled the iS to come to a stop in half the distance normally required. Squeeze the brake lever and the computer briefly reduces water flow to the pump, allowing the bucket to drop into position. The thrust resumes a split second later, with the computer gauging the amount of water to deliver based on the craft's speed and how firmly the driver is squeezing the handle. The result is a controlled stop, even in unexpected situations. The system also allows the iS to start in neutral, which is an unlikely maneuver for a PWC. With the touch of a button, the craft comes to life and holds a stationary position, thanks to a partial deployment of the reverse bucket. Squeeze the throttle, and you move into forward. Apply reverse, and you can back away in control, making it easier to handle around tight launch ramps or marinas. Other impressive features include a smart tilt steering system, versatile speed control with a GPS speedometer, and impressive performance with 0-30 acceleration in less than two seconds. The GTX Limited iS has a length of 139.2", beam of 48.19", dry weight of 948 lb., and a fuel capacity of 18.6 gal., along with 16.4 gal. of storage capacity. With an MSRP of $16,499, it's a worthy investment for anyone looking to take their PWC experience to the next level. Bonus Tip: For longer cruising rides, consider wearing a wetsuit or neoprene shorts instead of a swimsuit or boardshorts to prevent chafing and enjoy a more comfortable ride. When it comes to personal watercraft, Sea-Doo never settles for second place. The 2010 RXT-X is a prime example, boasting 260 horsepower that rivals Kawasaki's Ultra 260X for the title of "biggest and baddest" PWC on the market. But what sets the RXT-X apart is not just its speed, but also its exceptional stopping power.
The RXT-X's 1,494 cc supercharged/intercooled triple engine provides an arm-wrenching blast of acceleration that can propel the boat to 67 mph. Interestingly, the Coast Guard's handshake agreement with PWC manufacturers is to limit speeds to 65 mph with a 2 mph leeway. However, the RXT-X's "sport" mode enables users to tap into the boat's full potential, thanks to the adoption of electronic throttle and two individual acceleration curves. Last year's RXT model introduced a stepped hull design and full suspension, but the RXT-X wisely opts for the hull design while leaving out the costly suspension. This makes the boat lighter and more agile, with improved handling in corners and greater stability in rough waters. The new handlebar design, adjustable for width and grip angle, enhances the driver's feeling of control. Electronic trim adjusts the craft's attitude on the fly, and Sea-Doo's "intelligent" brake and reverse technology allows for faster, more controlled stops. Overall, the Sea-Doo RXP is a high-performance PWC that offers exceptional stopping power, making it a top contender in its class. Bobby Boop Impellers.com ![]() Sea-Doo's 3D model is now even more versatile with the introduction of two new riding experiences in its second year. This multi-dimensional personal watercraft features the XP under-hull design and can be configured into various modes, including VERT, MOTO, and KART, each offering a unique riding experience. The stand-up mode provides an incredibly stable ride and excellent agility, even when the engine is off. For the 2005 model year, Sea-Doo has expanded the 3D's capabilities with two new modes - knee and Shoq, which locks in the handlebars for a vert experience. The Shoq features a three-position adjustable strut and a damper to provide a smoother ride. The base 3D PWC now comes standard with the vert mode, and other modes can be added at an additional cost. This bold move has generated a lot of interest from both enthusiasts and the media, further establishing Sea-Doo as a leader in the PWC market. Bobby Boop Impellers.com 9/7/2004 Sea-Doo Unveils New 2005 Lineup: RXT with Intercooled 215 hp Supercharged Engine, 3D with New Experiences and Upgraded Foot MatsRead NowSea-Doo has introduced the RXT for 2005, which is based on the GTX hull and comes in two color options - red and green. The RXT has the same power and speed as the RXP, Sea-Doo's intercooled 215 hp supercharged two-passenger watercraft. The RXP returns for 2005 with minimal changes and will also be available in red or green.
Sea-Doo's 3D, released last spring, has two new experiences for 2005: a knee mode and a Shoq that locks in the handlebars for the vert experience. The Shoq is a three-position adjustable strut with a damper that helps smooth the ride. Sea-Doo will also offer a base 3D watercraft with the vert mode only, and other modes can be added for an additional cost. All foot mats across Sea-Doo's watercraft lineup have been changed and now feature a new soft foam rubber. Other returning watercraft models include the GTX, GTX Limited, GTX Supercharged, GTI, GTI LE, GTI RFI, and the newly named Wake edition. Many of these watercraft have new color and other options available. In a bold move that is certain to garner the company a LOT of enthusiast — and media — attention in coming months, Sea-Doo recently unveiled the 3D, a multi-dimensional PWC that offers three different riding experiences.
Based around the XP hull design, the 3D can be configured into three different "modes," including VERT (essentially a stand-up), MOTO (motocross style), and KART, a completely new to the PWC market experience that places the driver in a low, go-kart-like position. Power is provided by a 782cc, 110-horse engine with Rotax Fuel Injection. The stand-up version offers the most stable stand-up ride ever. You can shut the engine off and still stand in the tray with confidence. And while its quite stable, it also offers a very agile ride, able to slice up buoy course with authority. Redy for a new experience? Push a couple buttons and you can fold a seat out of the handlepole, and then seat post out of the seat itself. The post fixes to the topdeck and offers a motocross-style seat to rest on. For the most unique ride in the watercraft industry, though, you can fold the seat back up, secure the handlepole to the top deck and add a seat to the tray. Kart mode positions the driver mere inches above the water and provides that go-cart-on-the-water feel. The catch? That seat is currently sold as an accessory ($599), making the 3D really more of a 2D in standard trim. |
