In this article, we'll be exploring how to increase the performance of a Sea-Doo HX by upgrading various components of the craft. From engine modifications to hull accessories, we'll cover all the upgrades necessary to turn your stock HX into a high-performance machine. So, if you're looking to take your Sea-Doo HX to the next level, read on!
Engine The Pro engine package starts with a careful examination of the engine cases to ensure they are optimized for the desired flow. This is followed by the installation of a billet-aluminum intake-strengthening plate, which is essential for modified engines to prevent cracking. The plate is carefully matched to the cases' intake tracts and the intake manifold. A 74mm stroker crankshaft is then installed, featuring high-performance racing rods and a 4mm increase in stroke over the stock crank. Next, 82mm ART pistons and Rossier Engineering cylinders are added, featuring Rossier's own porting specifications. This combination results in a displacement of 782cc, 64cc greater than the stock motor's 718cc displacement. A Rossier cylinder head with an interchangeable-dome design is added to allow for adjustment of the compression ratio for elevation changes. Each engine package comes complete with a personal spec sheet, which includes information such as squish clearance, rotary-valve timing, exhaust duration, and compression ratio. The engines are also pressure tested for air leaks before leaving the our facility. The fuel system consists of a Hot Products dual 46mm carburetor kit with flame arrestors and an intake manifold, as well as a Hot Products V-Flex rotary valve. A Rossier Engineering carb bracket is used to support the carburetors and intake manifold. The exhaust side of the engine is equipped with a Rossier exhaust manifold, head pipe, and expansion chamber, which exit the hull in the stock location via a Hot Products-modified, stock waterbox. To ignite the engine, We chooses to run programmable, total-loss MSD ignitions. The ignition system is kept away from water by mounting it in the OEM ignition box. A 14.5/22.5 degree Skat-Trak swirl impeller is used to put the power of the engine to the water, along with a modified Jet Dynamics XP top-loader intake grate. In addition to the engine modifications, the Pro Sea-Doo HX also features a range of Hot Products HX accessories, including a Cyclone air induction system, a Duck Bill hull drain, a seven-position billet-aluminum steering damper, a Hydro-Matic hood-lift system, battery-cable quick disconnects, U.M.I. Racing handlebars, an AP Designs traction mat and seat cover, and a Sato Engineering T-3 throttle lever. The craft is simple, functional, and performance-oriented, and our testers were thoroughly impressed with its performance. Impellers.com
