The PWC Rally, known as the Personal Watercraft Liberty Challenge, is gearing up for an exciting 10-leg rally starting from Key West and culminating in New York City this coming June. The rally will cover a distance of 1600 miles, and riders will face challenging elements as they attempt to complete the journey in just 10 days. Each leg of the trip will range approximately 70 - 160 miles off the eastern seaboard, with roughly five hours a day spent on the water.
According to the promoters SEE Productions, the challenge is open to watercraft owners and sport aficionados looking for challenging adventures with a sense and a taste of the good life. Riders can register individually, as a group of four on one craft, or as corporate teams. Only stock watercraft will be allowed, and the challenge is not just about speed, but perseverance and endurance. This is the U.S. personal watercraft market's first-ever water marathon. Event producer Gilles Dandrieux established a record for the journey this past September, completing the trip in a total cumulative time of 2 days, 15 hours, and 35 minutes. In addition to offering an exciting adventure for participants, a percentage of the registrations will be donated to the Children's Brain Trust Fund at Miami Children Hospital Foundation.
