I own a 1994 Sea-Doo GTX on which it has a Factory Pipe ECWI exhaust system, Flame arresters, Solas 14/19 Impeller, and a DCT sports thrust cone. The boat runs great and I am happy with the results of the modifications I have made so far, but I have heard the sea doo manifold can crack with aftermarket air filters. I am wondering if this is a concern with the 650 motor in my boat. I had to remove the stock carburetor support bracket to install the aftermarket filters, Could this cause a problem? Art Art,
There has been a problem with the '94 Sea Doo manifolds cracking, especially when the support bracket is removed as required when installing Ocean Pro Vortex flame arresters. There is a cure for this problem. You can make a bracket arm that fits in old mounting holes in head and bent it up to meet up to one of bolts on top of filter. You can find a 1/8 x 1/2 x 12 aluminum bracket at your home depot. You will have to bend it, drill holes and bend it to fit but its a pretty easy fix.
