Hold on to your hats, personal watercraft enthusiasts in California! Kawasaki is bringing its all-new 800 SX-R stand-up to the Golden State, hot off the heels of receiving a coveted CARB Three Star emissions rating for its STX-12F model. With advances in engine technology and emissions control, the company is thrilled to offer Californians the opportunity to experience the thrill of riding one of the most exciting personal watercraft on the market. According to Kawasaki product manager Patrick Kelly, "This is a significant opportunity that opens the doors for Californians to join the rest of the country in experiencing one of the most exciting new personal watercraft available."
Even better, the 800 SX-R is the lowest-priced stand-up available, coming in at an incredible $5,499, which is $500 less than last year's SXi Pro. As a result, Kawasaki plans on ramping up production of this exciting new model to give more consumers the chance to get into the stand-up market at a lower cost. Kawasaki's Bob Moffit, Vice President Marketing and Product Management - Motorcycles and Watercraft, will be retiring at the end of the year, leaving the company after 27 years.
Moffit started with Kawasaki in 1975, and has held positions in marketing, research and development, and sales. In addition, he served 11 terms as Chairman of the Motorcycle Industry Council's Board of Directors, and two terms as Chairman to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. "Leaving Kawasaki was not an easy decision after so many years of involvement with the industry, the company, and all of the people I've been fortunate to interact with," said Moffit. "But it is certainly fulfilling to reflect on 27 years of relationships that have made the experience an enjoyable one that I will never forget." "My field sales background has been an invaluable asset, and my association with our many dealers is foremost among many pleasant memories." Kawasaki plans to announce a replacement to Moffit closer to the end of the year. "Kawasaki and its employees, dealers, and vendors will all feel a sense of loss when Bob retires," said Steve Hamada, KMC president, "but his presence will continue to be felt through the many products, programs and policies in which he was instrumental." |
