Impeller Service
Impeller service refers to the maintenance and repair of an impeller, which is a component of a boat's propulsion system. The impeller consists of a series of vanes or blades that rotate around an axis and are used to create a flow of water. Impeller service may be required if the impeller becomes damaged or wears out over time. It may also be necessary if the boat's performance is not meeting expectations, as the impeller is a key factor in the efficiency and power of the propulsion system.
Impeller service typically involves the removal and inspection of the impeller, as well as cleaning and lubrication as needed. The vanes or blades of the impeller may also be examined for wear or damage, and any damaged or worn parts may be replaced. In some cases, the entire impeller may need to be replaced if it is beyond repair. Once the service is complete, the impeller is re-installed and the propulsion system is tested to ensure that it is functioning properly.
